Making The Most Of Your Jewelry Collection

Do you ever feel like your outfit just isn't complete? Your colors all match, and your shoes are divine. However, something is just not there. Choosing a piece of jewelry to wear with clothes could be the answer. A necklace or a pair of earrings will bring that classy finish you need.

Do your research before settling on one diamond. Look at the pieces up close before purchasing them, and be sure to compare them to others. You should be aware that there are many deceptive people trying to sell jewelry; therefore, it is essential to learn and understand what is involved when selecting a new diamond.

Keep your necklaces free of tangles by getting robe hooks to hang them. You can keep your necklaces organized by length, color or material when you install a row of robe hooks on a wall or right on the inside of your closet door. This will keep you from having to worry about tangled necklaces the next time you go for one, and it happens to also be an attractive way to display them.

In order to save money, have a replica made for a piece of jewelry that you covet but can't really afford. In many cases, the only thing you will need is a photograph of the jewelry piece you would like. Show this picture to a specialist or a jewelry store. Once the jeweler has the photo they will use their materials to make a reproduction and have it plated, saving you money.

Do not use harsh chemicals such as ammonia, bleach, turpentine or acetone to clean them. Harsh chemicals will dull your stones and dissolve the enamel on your jewelry.

Use just a damp cloth to wipe off your jewelry, taking care to protect the setting. Follow this with another soft cloth for drying off the piece. Costume jewelry should never be cleaned with chemicals or steam.

To distinguish between real and fake, bring a magnet when you shop for sterling silver jewelry. You can detect fake sterling silver with the magnet, since non-precious metals are drawn to magnets. True sterling sliver always has some sort of hallmark stamp on it, such as .925, sterling or ster. If your silver is not marked, it could be because it is not real!

It's now common to see silver and yellow gold being worn together. However, you have to find jewelry that incorporates both metals into one piece. Trying to mix radically different pieces can often have disastrous results.

If you are going to buy a very expensive piece of jewelry, buy something that will last you for years. The more expensive a piece of jewelry is usually means it is higher quality. When selecting a piece, also consider the various styles available. Stick with classic styles. The trendy items of today may be grossly out of fashion tomorrow. A classic design will stand the test of time.

Now that you have read this, you will know how to purchase all types of jewelry wisely. Not only are you going to save yourself some time, but you also are going to save quite a few dollars by following the tips and tricks in this article.

Marc by Marc Jacobs Twisted Q Baby Groovee

I have always been a fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Groovee” and I just became a fan of the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Baby Groovee.” I’m not one for small handbags, but this one is cute! Obviously, if I had to choose I would pick the larger handbag without a doubt. The thing is though, is that the “Twisted Q Groovee” does cost a bit more than than the “Baby Groovee.” If you have always loved the “Twisted Q Groovee” but never had the funds for it, you can now get a smaller version of the same exact bag at a fraction of the price! The “Twisted Q Baby Groovee” is basically a carbon copy of it’s big sister, it’s just a tad bit smaller. If you like small handbags then you will probably love this bag. I would imagine that you can’t fit much in this bag, so if you don’t have much to carry around then this bag will be perfect for you! What I love most about this handbag is that it’s so versatile. You can carry it: one-of-two ways; day or night; and all year long. It really is one of those bag that no matter what you wear, it will look fabulous. You can literally wear a dress, jeans, leggings, or skirt and the bag will look stunning. If you are looking for a multi-purpose handbag to add to your collection, then you may just want to consider the “Twisted Q Baby Groovee.”The Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Baby Groovee” can be purchased at Zappos for $362. Remember though, the “Twisted Q Baby Groovee” is priced at $502. This bag is cute, but if you’re looking for a larger handbag then you may want to save up a little more money to get the bigger version.See the Marc by Marc Jacobs “Twisted Q Baby Groovee: Here @ ZapposThe Chat: Twisted Groovee!

Marc Jacobs Studded Stardust Cecilia Satchel

Marc Jacobs has done it again by bringing us another beautiful Cecilia Satchel. This time the satchel is purple and studded. The bag is absolutely gorgeous, but it would of been better if I discovered this bad when the “stud trend” was at it’s height. I’ve always said though, not to follow trends and wear whatever you want at any moment. If you love studs, then you most likely will love this purse.I love this bag, but I think if it came in black with gold studs it would look even more fabulous! Plus, you can match a black handbag with just about anything, whereas you can’t with purple.I think the style and shape of this bag are absolutely amazing, but looks can be deceiving. By looking at the picture of the handbag, I would think that the bag is pretty big, and spacious. When in reality, as soon as you turn the bag to the side you can see how it’s not very wide. It’s obvious you wouldn’t be able to fit much of anything in this bag. Perhaps you could fit your keys, makeup bag, wallet and I’m not sure what else. If this bag was a little wider, it would be perfect! The Marc Jacobs Studded Stardust Cecilia Satchel can be purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue for $1,475, which is a normal price for Marc Jacobs bags. Beautiful bag, I just wish it came in black!See the Marc Jacobs Studded Stardust Cecilia Satchel at: Saks Fifth AvenueThe Chat: Marc Jacobs Stardust!

Linea Pelle Purse Light Key Chain

Big bags are extremely popular right now and its seems that many people feel “the bigger the better”. Personally, I am not a big bag kind of girl. But I do like to carry a large tote when appropriate. So what’s not to like about a big bag? They can carry a lot of stuff and they can really make a statement with just about any outfit. But I think most ladies will agree with me when I say “it sure is dark in there”. Seriously, though. How annoying is it when you’re looking for something inside your bag and you can’t see a thing in there? I imagine this would be especially true in situations when the lighting is limited. Now I’ve seen handbags that come with a little light inside them. But you know what? I wouldn’t buy a bag just because it had a light inside! I would actually have to like the bag in question and to this day have never come across one that appeals to me. So I was thinking, what if there was a light that you could switch from one bag to another? Introducing the Linea Pelle Purse Light Key Chain. Sure, there are other flashlight key chains out there. But what I like about this one is that it comes with clip instead of a key ring. My idea was to clip it onto the ring found inside many bags these days… and ta-da! Instant illumination inside your bag! And the best part is they come in a variety of colors, so you may even be able to match one to your bag!The Linea Pelle Purse Light Key Chain is currently available in Black, Fuchsia, Orange, Silver, or White. It is constructed of fine Italian leather and it retails for only $30! Find it at Linea Pelle Collection. The Chat: Linea Pelle Light Key Chain!

Lily Allen (Beach) Style: Yves Saint Laurent Muse Two

I am a huge fan of Yves Saint Laurent. Like huge. And when I heard about the YSL handbag sample sale, my jaw dropped. Anytime there’s a designer handbag sample sale, especially when the prices are expected to reach up to 70% off, I just have to stop everything and check it out.The items at the sale are going to be a complete surprise until the doors open tomorrow, Thursday August 20th at 8: am PST / 11: am EST.They have no sneak peak images or video preview on their site.If you need an invite to BeyondtheRack sample sale.

Oh how I anticipate my summer vacation this year! Guess who’s the lucky pop singer spotted vacationing in St. Tropez with her friend/supermodel Kate Moss + fam.? It’s the one and only Lily Allen. I adore her extra cute beach accessories of red wafer sunnies and pink jelly slip-on’s Lily was spotted wearing. But of course the mother of all accessories Lily took out to the beach was her luxurious Muse Two bag by Yves Saint Laurent. This boxy tote has always been my favorite Muse style, and the more I see it, the more I adore it. Carry this slouchy tote bag on the shoulder by means of the oversized top handle or simply on the crook of the arm just like Lily. I’d most definitely dress this bag up, but as Lily demonstrates, carrying the Muse Two with beach wear doesn’t look half bad. Come to think of it, this puts my beach tote to shame.A large front flap, gold toned hardware, and smooth suede lining are a few of my favorites found on this Muse. If you’re in seek of Lily’s beach bag of choice, you can find the Road Grey version marked down 20% off through: BlueflyImage: SplashNewsThe Chat: Lily Allen Loves YSL!

Fendi Skunk Fur Peekaboo Roll Bag

Anyone up for a skunk fur leather bag? Umm… no thank you. I apologize to any fans of this particular bag, but I’m morbidly shocked at how horrid this handbag is. Did the House of Fendi seriously have to ‘kill’ (no pun intended) the classic look of its latest Peekaboo tote by throwing on a pelt of skunk fur onto this bag? If they sought to create a classy rich leather bag adored in an exotic choice of fur, I say they failed miserably. Besides the not so attractive furry bag appearance, I can’t decide if I dislike this bag for the fact that’s it’s sporting a dead skunk on it or because it’s made out of skunk! Right off the bat, there’s an unattractive feeling towards this bag filled with reminders of how bad skunks really do smell. I say Fendi should leave the rodents to American Folk leader Davy Crockett to wear, as he was possibly the only person who could have pulled this look off.I can honestly say that for once, anti-fur and fur industry supporters unite and agree that this Fendi piece sure does stink!Discover the rest of the F/W 09’ Fendi collection at: Saks Fifth AvenueThe Chat: Fendi Peekaboo!
